At Red Beard Tattoo, we offer the latest in laser tattoo removal. Please read below to find out more about how laser removal works and if it's something that could work for you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us. We'd be glad to talk about your laser removal options!

Sessions are $50 and last up to 30 minutes. If your session requires more time, cost is $25 per 15 minutes thereafter.

What is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Tattoos consist of thousands of particles of tattoo pigment in the skin.  While the human body may remove some of these particles while healing, a large amount of the pigment remains because they are too large for white blood cells to remove them.  Laser Tattoo Removal causes the pigment of the ink to heat up and fragment (break apart) into smaller pieces by using the heat and energy of the Laser.  These smaller pieces are then removed by normal body processes which are in simplest terms.  The white blood cells in your skin trap the ink particles and carry them to the liver to be filtered out into your body’s waste system (going to the bathroom).

Why Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser Tattoo Removal is the ONLY method that works in the removal of tattoos.  Any type of injections, cremes, gels, abrasives will not work, and cause damage to the skin (scarring, discoloration).

Number Of Laser Tattoo Removal Sessions Needed:

Complete laser tattoo removal requires numerous treatment sessions, and are spaced at least 6 to 7 weeks apart.  At each session, some but not all of the tattoo pigment particles are effectively fragmented, and the body removes the smallest fragments over the course of several weeks.  The result, the tattoo is lightened over time.  The number of sessions and spacing between treatments depends of the area of the body, skin color, and life style (i.e. smoking, alcohol consumption, medications, street drug use, eating habits, and lastly, how active a client may be.

Post-Treatment (After Treatment):

Immediately after laser treatment, a slightly elevated, white discoloration with OR without the presence of punctuate bleeding is often observed.  This white color change is thought to be the result of rapid, heat-formed steam or gas, causing dermal (skin) and epidermal (inner skin) vacuolization, known as “Frosting”.  Some pinpoint bleeding may happen under the skin, and have the appearance of red dots or lines, but normal skin usually resolves within 24/48 hours.  A crust appears over the entire tattoo, which sloughs off in approximately 14 days.  Some tattoo pigment may be found within the crust.  Fading of the tattoo will be noted over the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Side Effects:

Some clients will show some changes in the normal skin pigmentation.  These changes usually resolve in 6 to 12 months but may rarely be permanent.  The darker the client’s skin, the greater chance this MAY happen.
